Flagellin aerosol therapy as an immunomodulatory adjunct to the antibiotic treatment of drug-resistant bacterial pneumonia (FAIR) will present a symposium at this year’s ERS Congress, from 7-11 September, in Vienna, Austria.
Taking place on Tuesday 10 September, the session will be chaired by Dr Andrea Gramegna, Dr Eva Polverino and Prof. Dr Bülent Taner Karadag. The chairs aim to present the progression of the Horizon 2020 European Union project FAIR, tracing its trajectory from preclinical investigations to translational development.
The symposium will cover the below listed topics, followed by a Q&A:
- Exploring the immunostimulatory potential of FLAMOD as an adjunct of antibiotics in bacterial pneumonia.
- Inhalation of FLAMOD: formulation for nebulisation and preclinical evaluation.
- Development of the first-in-human trial for nebulisation of FLAMOD.
- Prognostic and predictive enrichment strategies for immunomodulatory therapies like FLAMOD.
Session Chair, Dr Eva Polverino said: “We are excited to be presenting this session at the ERS Congress 2024 with other experts in the field of respiratory infections and clinical care. This session will be a good opportunity for professionals to learn more on the progress that the FAIR project has made since the pandemic, and the future trajectory of research.”
