    University of Tours

    The University of Tours is a public University in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France that totals 34 research units, including 15 joint research units in partnership with the CNRS (the National Centre for Scientific Research), the INSERM (the National Institute of Health and Medical Research), the INRA (the National Institute for Agricultural Research) and the CEA (the Atomic Energy Commission). All of these units are attached to four Doctoral Schools. The university consolidates its research around 5 major fields of expertise (Life and Health Sciences, Sciences and Technologies and Human and Social Sciences) and the following subjects of excellence: Renaissance, infectiology, imaging and the brain, insect biology, materials, cities and territories. 

    The University has been developing a broad network of partners worldwide. It participates in several European research programmes: H2020, Euronanomed, Interreg, etc.

    It hosts more than 22.000 students, 1.300 teaching and research staff as well as 1.000 technical and administrative staff.
